I know that this has been a week of change and uncertainty. It seems that from day to day the realities of what COVID-19 demanded of us in order to be safe shifted and moved quickly. Last week, we suspended our services for a week in order to have time to get a steady plan. Now we have more certainty.
Bishop Dietsche announced that he is “calling for the complete suspension of public worship for the coming eight weeks (up to May 17th).” He also said that the policy will be reviewed immediately after Easter. As one of our members said to me this morning “it is comforting to have some certainty.”
As two very social churches, this time apart will be trying for us all but remember Dorothée, Charlie, and I are all reachable. Sunday services will be recorded and links sent to you (if you cannot watch live through Facebook.) And additional remote services will be provided as we develop them.
You have received many communications from us this week. I hope to slim those down in the week to come by sending a weekly letter. We at the office will collect information and consolidate it in a single communication. Of course, if anything is immediate we shall send it right out. For now, stay home, stay safe, and know we are here.

O God of peace, you have taught us that in returning and rest we shall be saved, in quietness and confidence shall be our strength: By the might of your Spirit lift us, we pray, to your presence, where we may be still and know that you are God; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, for ever and ever. Amen
