The New Beginnings Micro-Fund was started by parishioners who wanted to take St. Paul’s community outreach farther.
Our revolving loan fund was created in collaboration with our sister congregation, Trinity Episcopal Church. The purpose of the Fund is to provide small loans to assist borrowers working to start businesses and improve their lives in many other countries and in the U.S.A. These individuals would not otherwise have access to the credit that allows them to create and sustain their small enterprises.
We are currently making loans through the well-established, nonprofit micro-lender Kiva. Kiva is an award-winning international nonprofit organization that is rated 4 out of 4 stars by Charity Navigator. Kiva’s founders envision a world where all people hold the power to create opportunity for themselves and others.
We welcome members of the greater Ossining community or any friends elsewhere to join our team in this endeavor. To make an investment, you may either contact us through St. Paul’s or Trinity or invest directly through Kiva (see below) and designate your contribution to the New Beginnings Social Investment Fund team.
We loan because what we can give is multiplied, like the loaves and fishes, to help others in need over and over again.
